16270: Test Engineer - Digital Signal
Location:Ohio, Dayton

We are looking for an engineer to supplement our current field test team for a project that provides customer support in the area of radar testing and data analysis. The applicant, as part of a project team, will develop test infrastructure necessary to translate customer experiment concepts into executable hardware and software solutions to meet program goals. Infrastructure includes signal generation equipment (standard laboratory and special purpose) and instrumentation (high speed data recorders, video recorders). Incumbent will provide pretest development, checkout, and demonstration of equipment as well as on-site equipment setup and operation. Tasks also include test planning, equipment development to meet customer needs - RF design, waveform programming, FPGA programming, checkout of signal generation and test recorder equipment, operation of the equipment during testing and post test data analysis.

  • Typical work schedule M-F 8-5 except when on test deployments
  • Hardware and software experience
  • Minimum of 4 years experience
  • BS in Electrical/Computer/Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science

An Ideal candidate would have the following qualifications:

  • Ability to plan, conduct, and lead laboratory and field tests
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other organizations and team mates as part of an overall test team
  • Ability to lead test infrastructure development efforts, and to direct technical tasks of other engineers to meet project goals
  • Ability to develop customer experiment concepts into delivered hardware and software solutions
  • Ability to build, program, modify, and operate EW/RF equipment to include field test equipment
  • Experience in radar and electronic countermeasures testing and evaluation
  • Experience with operation and use of test equipment such as signal generators and standard laboratory test equipment - spectrum analyzers, O-Scopes, Function Generators
  • Experience with digital high speed signal recorders, and video cameras and recorders
  • Experience with analysis of test data and ability to develop software tools to assist with data analysis
  • Experience with development of MATLAB and C/C++ code
  • Experience with development of software in a Linux operating environment
  • Experience with RF design
