14194: Senior SharePoint Administrator
Location:Florida, Doral

The Senior SharePoint Administrator will be responsible for supporting the Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) for the USSOUTHCOM SharePoint environment. This includes coordinating comprehensive backup and restore plans for the databases, server environment, and all supporting infrastructure. The Senior SharePoint Administrator will research Microsoft best practices, and recommend the approach for applying hot fixes, patches, cumulative updates, and service packs that meet security and functionality requirements defined by DoD and Army security requirements such as IAVA and STIGs. The ideal candidate will have a service oriented mentality, high sense of ownership of the problems and requests assigned, focus on managing and resolving issues, and establishing and maintaining communication with key players and impacted parties.


  • Manages the functionality and efficiency of Enterprise SharePoint environments.
  • Maintains the integrity and security of servers and systems.
  • Sets up administrator and service accounts.
  • Maintains system documentation.
  • Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.
  • Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.
  • Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
  • Develops and implements testing strategies and document results.
  • Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced staff members, and may have supervisory responsibilities.
  • May serve as a technical team lead or task leader.
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
  • Participates in special projects as required.
  • Leads SQL projects and new requirements
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation regarding SharePoint system configuration and operation (system diagrams, application topology, data flow, SOPs, business processes, etc.).


  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science or other related field (8 years of relevant experience may be substituted for education)
  • 8-10 years’ of directly related experience in systems administration and analysis.
  • Experience providing SharePoint farm administration, including design, implementation and support of enterprise-level SharePoint environments from SharePoint 2010 and   later versions on development, integration and production.
  • Proficient in Windows PowerShell, to include SharePoint PowerShell modules, to configure and administer SharePoint and automate tasks.
  • Experience with high-availability design (failover systems and data replication) pertaining to SharePoint enterprise architecture.
  • IAT Level II: CompTIA Security + CE (or equivalent)

AND one of the following

  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA)
  • Microsoft Certified Information Technology Professional (MCITP)
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)

  Additional Technical Skills/Experience Desired:

  • Experience demonstrating the ability to lead projects or work groups (such as the ability to assign/review immediate tasks, set the pace and check work in progress or upon completion, all consistent with the organizational goals) and to work on/with a team as a contributor.
  • Knowledgeable with Internet Information Server (IIS) and the basic operation of websites, Application Pools, IIS Administration, ports, SSL Certificates, and Kerberos.
  • General knowledge of basic administration of a server including service packs and hot fixes required in a Windows operating system environment.
  • Eight years of progressively responsible experience in SharePoint farm administration supporting and managing and enterprise environment.
