14425: Aerospace Engineer
Location:Alabama, Huntsville
Clearance:SCI Eligible

Selected candidate will provide engineering technical management and system engineering integration support for a space flight project in Huntsville, AL. Responsibilities include but not limited to providing support in all phases of preparation and issue resolutions for major design reviews, technical interchange meetings, test readiness reviews, and programmatic meetings. The candidate will be required to prepare briefings and meeting minutes, track action items, perform technical trade studies, participate in problem resolution activities, analyze data, participate in risk assessments and mitigation plan development and evaluation, provide hazard analysis assessments, perform flight readiness assessments, evaluate technical feasibility of prime contractor change requests, and review prime contractor documentation submittals for adequacy and content.

Expert knowledge of Propulsion and Thermal Control Systems is strongly desired and be capable of providing expertise for a wide range of propulsion and thermal components, types, and technologies. Expertise to be applied to the evaluation of system designs, component sizing, trade studies, performance analyses, and test data. The ideal candidate will have the engineering skills to perform chemical, mechanical, thermal, and electrical analysis and engineering evaluation related to propulsion and thermal control systems. Experience should include the following emphasis areas:

  • Propulsion/Thermal Hardware Experience
  • System Engineering oversight
  • Technical Issue oversight and resolution
  • System Test Support experience

Travel will be required on a regular basis (25%) to provide on-site support at customer location or other alternate site.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (or equivalent field); Master's Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in DoD and/or NASA flight projects, or similar experience.
  • Must have a strong Systems Engineering background that brings proper perspective of subsystems impact to the total project and demonstrated ability to develop tools and products to provide these assessments.
  • Must be able to work in a team oriented fast-paced environment, be a self-starter, and require minimum supervision in performing day-to-day duties.
  • Must have intimate working knowledge of MS Office Suite applications, with a demonstrated ability in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Active Top Secret/SCI is required.


  • Experience in providing assessment of system test readiness; experience providing support oversight of said testing; experience in the assessment of as-run test data; expertise to interpret the data and communicate the findings to the customer.
  • Experience in current engineering tools such as MatLab to enhance the team capabilities.
